- Mar 16
- 1 min read
This is a reminder that 2026 Business License renewals are now past due.
Business licenses expire on December 31 of each year. The City of Whitesburg provides a grace period allowing businesses to renew their license through March 15 each year. As of today, renewals not submitted by this deadline are considered past due. A 10% penalty fee on your Business License will now be added to the total amount due.
Business owners may still file for their current business license without submitting a Schedule C by March 15, 2026, provided that an estimate of prior-year gross receipts was submitted at that time.
The gross receipts estimate may be submitted in one of the following forms:
A signed letter from your CPA or accountant verifying the estimated gross receipts; or
A printed gross receipts estimate generated from your cash register or point-of-sale system.
However, A copy of your Schedule C Tax Form or tax form showing your TOTAL gross receipts MUST be provided in order to remain in business with the city NO LATER THAN APRIL 15, 2026.
Absolutely no exceptions.
Failure to obtain your required business license may result in revocation by the city.
