EMERGENCY MEETING NOTICE - March 6, 2026, at 6pm

The City of Whitesburg will hold an emergency meeting Friday, March 6, 2026, at 6pm at 50 Booster Field Dr Whitesburg, GA 30185, to address a time-sensitive matter regarding the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application for water infrastructure improvements. The purpose of this meeting is to vote on the engineering firm that will represent the work needed for the City’s CDBG application.

The City has been working with Three Rivers to prepare a CDBG grant application for water infrastructure improvements. As part of the application process, the City has completed the required steps, including advertising for engineering services in the local newspaper and on the GPR site. Two engineering firms submitted proposals in response to the advertisement. A Public Hearing was held on Monday, March 2nd, to gather community input as required for the application. During that meeting, both engineering firm proposals were discussed in depth. Those present expressed agreement that the firm with the greater experience and stronger proposal packet would be the best choice to represent the project; however, a formal vote was not taken at that time.
